Hello and welcome to my blog!
Curious to know more about me? I’m Lubna, a wanderer in spirit, yet rooted in Colorado. That may sound oxymoronic, but that’s how I am. Dig your heels in, but reach out as far as you can!! I love to explore new places, on foot, by road, or flying out to exciting destinations, but always glad to return to the comfort of my own home. My husband, Azfar, and my kids Taimoor and Haaris, are my usual travel companions. We thrive on spontaneous trips as well as planned vacations. As an elementary school teacher for over a decade, I always tried to instill the love of learning something new in my students. I took my own advice to heart, and in 2016 set about on a fresh direction in life. I’ve always been a visual person, rejoicing in pictures, and running around the family capturing moments through photography. So it seemed only logical to adopt it as a profession. As I started to train my eye and practice my skills, it was amazing to see what the lens could capture. Cliche as it might sound, but the camera did allow me to see the world in a new light! What started as a hobby, grew into a profession. I’m always in search of the next best photograph, be it in people, places or nature! Feel free to check out my photography passion here!
Why a blog?
My other great passion has always been writing. It has been my go-to form of communication. A picture can be worth a thousand words. Yet, how much more enriching it is to see a picture in context! To be able to digest and savor experiences delivered both through an alphabet, as well as images….well, I’m not passing up that opportunity! The cavemen were on to something with their simple cave drawings, or the hieroglyphics that followed in other civilizations. Me? I’m happy with my photo essays and other ponderings.
What Will I Find Here?
There is an old Chinese saying, ” If you would know the road ahead, ask someone who has traveled it.” I hope to use some of my own travel, food and photography adventures, to enlighten and entertain others. I invite you to come on this journey with me, and gain a new perspective! I hope to include weekly/ monthly posts about travel reviews, photo essays, food findings, and tips for savvy travelers.
